WHO-VOA is seeking volunteers!

We need shoppers for our famous Starter Kits!

WHO-VOA Starter Kits are the supplies that we give to women and children when they move from their temporary housing at Father Ed Judy House and Bannock Youth Center. Shopping is done at WalMart, and we have a full list of items to purchase as well recyclable WHO bags to store the goods. Please contact Chairwomen Dana Larson at dana@iconcv.com and/or Lisa Springer at lisa.springer@stratmoregroup.com to volunteer and for more information.

How do you become a volunteer?  Just send an email to wholadies@yahoo.com identifying your area of interest.  Please provide your complete contact information.  The Membership Chairwoman will forward your message to the appropriate Chairwoman for contact.

Father Ed Judy House:  The Father Ed Judy House is seeking volunteers.

  • What does it involve?  We provide Starter Kits for the moms and kids as they move to more permanent housing.  So, we need volunteers to shop for the items we place within the Kits.  We have expanded our outreach to also include Volunteers of America facilities, so we need your help!

Brunetti Lofts: WHO-VOA volunteers (volunteers must be Colorado licensed loan officers) provide various forms of housing-related counseling to help individuals nearing the end of their five-year stay at Brunetti Lofts transition to their next step.

  • Tasks can include credit counseling or mentoring individuals on apartment or home loan applications. Due to the nature of the counseling, only licensed Colorado Mortgage Loan Officers may participate as volunteers.

Dress for Success:  Our Chairwoman for Dress For Success is happy to coordinate volunteer opportunities.

  • What does it involve?  You can volunteer to be a personal shopper, helping women to select work-appropriate clothing from the “boutique.”  You can help with the monthly intake of clothing (takes place the second Saturday of each month).  Or, you can volunteer your talents and skills at the Career Center.
